Não consigo fazer o X funcionar quando utilizo o fglrx.

Comentei todo o arquivo /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-fglrx.conf:

Reiniciei e usei o comando abaixo para descobrir qual driver está em uso:

De acordo com o link http://askubuntu.com/a/254877, já estou usando o driver proprietário!

O problema é que o Steam nem abre. A mesma coisa acontece com o VirtualBox. O VirtualBox inclusive reclama que a VM está configurada para usar 3D mas o mesmo não está habilitado na minha máquina!

Alguma ideia?

Se você usa o GNOME

Pelas notas de lançamento do Debian Jessie o drive proprietário da AMD/ATI fglrx não funciona com ele, veja no link abaixo

Se você busca uma solução, pode encontrar na seção hardware ou tentar outro ambiente gráfico.

Na verdade estou usando o LXDE.

Interessante o post que você indicou. Você está usando este método? A performance realmente muda muito com os drivers proprietários?
