Notebook trava ao alterar brilho do monitor (RESOLVIDO).
Pessoal tudo bem?

Já fiz várias pesquisas para tentar resolver meu problema e nada. Como aqui no fórum dividimos experiências, então gostaria da ajuda de vocês para tentar resolvê-lo.

Atualmente utilizo o Debian SID, Kernel 3.3.1 e Gnome-Shell rodando em um notebook Dell N4030. O sistema trava ao alterar o brilho da tela do Notebook. Por exemplo se eu pressionar e segurar o botão para diminuir ou aumentar o brilho da tela o sistema trava todo. Nem consigo acessar nenhum terminal com CONTROL+ALT+F1..N. O engraçado que só ocorre no Gnome-Shell. Já vi outros usuários reclamando que tiveram que trocar de Window Manager, mas eu quero tentar resolver o problema tendo em vista que muitos usuários também podem estar passando pelo mesmo. Já tentei alterar o brilho tanto pelas teclas de função correspondente quanto pelo Painel de Controle do próprio Gnome e o erro ocorre da mesma forma. Já tentei com outras versões do Kernel. Irei postar algumas informações adicionais para quem puder me ajudar. Já tentei verificar os log's do sistema, mas não encontrei nada...

RE: Notebook trava ao alterar brilho do monitor.
Pessoal acabei descobrindo que precisava alterar um parâmetro na linha responsável pelo carregamento do Kernel no arquivo "/boot/grub/grub.cfg". A dica funciona também para aqueles notebooks que o brilho não é alterado quando a tecla FN correspondente é pressionada.

Primeiramente é necessário editar o "grub.cfg" e na linha do Kernel adicionar o parâmetro "acpi_osi=linux acpi_backlight=vendor".

Alterar isso (Editar de acordo com a versão do Kernel e qual partição ele será carregado):

Para isso:

linux    /boot/vmlinuz-3.3.1 root=/dev/sda1 ro quiet acpi_osi=linux acpi_backlight=vendor

Dessa forma não ocorreu nenhum travamento no sistema, inclusive consigo "apagar" o display por completo com FN. Só tive um problema: toda vez que dava o boot a tela ficava com pouco brilho e a configuração do brilho que tinha ajustado não era salva sendo necessário ficar ajustando toda vez depois de inciar o Debian. Consegui resolver adicionando:

# echo 4100 > /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/brightness

ao arquivo "/etc/init.d/bootmisc.sh".

Agora basta editar o "/etc/init.d/bootmisc.sh" e antes dos dois pontos (":") inserir o comando:

O valor "4100" pode ser substituído com o valor a seu gosto. Para você adicioná-lo primeiramente ajuste o brilho do notebook e depois verifique o valor definido para o mesmo:

$cat /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/brightness

Daí então você pega o valor retornado e utiliza no "bootmisc.sh" alterando o valor que está em negrito com o valor retornado. Obs.: Volto a afirmar que meu notebook é um DELL N4030, caso você possua outro equipamento talvez terá que alterar o procedimento citado acima para funcionar.

Uma pequena atualização ao tópico.

Mesmo realizando os procedimentos acima e mesmo assim o note continuar a travar quando o brilho do display é alterado, basta realizar os procedimentos abaixo:

Verificar em /sys/class/backlight/ se existe somente o arquivo intel_backlight. Em caso afirmativo é necessário criar uma regra para que o módulo dell_laptop não suba durante a inicialização do sistema. Lembrando que o meu hardware é um Notebook Dell N4030. Caso o seu seja outro não tenho certeza se vai funcionar...

Rode o seguinte comando abaixo logado como root:

echo "blacklist dell_laptop" > /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-dell.conf

Reinicie o sistema. Após isto, seu note DELL N4030 não deve travar.
