Batarde Galera!!!

Sou iniciante em Linux, estou estudando para tirar LPI nivel 1 e estou com dificuladade em configurar o wifi em modo texto.
Instalei o Debian Lenny, atualizei o kernel para 2.6.32-5-686, e todas atualizações estou baixando dos repositórios Squeeze. De acordo com meu Divice Manager tenho uma placa wireless Atheros AR5001.

Ela funciona normalmente e perfeita e automaticamente com network-manager-gnome. Mas quero aprender à configurar manualmente via modo texto.

Bom, comecei com O arquivo foi criado com o psk.
Quando eu dou o comando ele fica em loop.

Já usei vários todos os drivers possíveis disponíveis no man do wpa_supplicant, e nenhum rola o único que dá um sinal é o wext, que fica em loop.

acho que esse loop ocorre porque vc está com o network-manager habilitado, se não for isso, dá uma olhada no conteúdo do script que o morimoto fez para automatizar essa configuração, é só extrair as linhas do script que vc terá os passos para fazer manualmente: viewtopic.php?p=64201#p64201

É isso mesmo dmatrix .... matei o networkmanager e rolou o wpa_supplicant ... !!! valeuzão !!!!!
você viu isso na saida do comando que enviei ou é experiência mesmo ???

é que citou que com o networkmanager estava funcionando perfeitamente então fiquei na dúvida se desabilitou ele pois o daemon dele fica constantemente monitorando o dispositivo e certas operações manuais são sobrescritas com ele ativado.

Então é experiência mesmo ... rsrsrsrsrsrsrs .... muito obrigado cara!!!
Só um detalhe para consulta posteriores de outros usuários.
Matar somente o processo do netowrk manager não resolveu, pois ele carrega o wpa_supplicant junto e se matar somente o processo do wpa_supplicant também ão resolve, pois ele é recarregado automaticamente.
Tem que matar os dois processos!!!

blz? sei que voce já resolveu, mas no lugar do seguinte comando

wpa_supplicant -c /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf -i wlan0 -D wext -d

troque o final -D maisculo por -B maisculo... que vai rodar 1x só
